The most significant feature of the EX-Z400 is the new image processing abilities of the EXILIM Engine 4.0. With this feature, the camera allows the user to cut out the subject of one image and combine it with another image (the second image serves as the background from the selected subject). The other described capability of the Dynamic Photo function gives the photographer the ability to cut out the subject from several rapid-succession photos to create a composite scene where the subject is placed multiple times upon a single background. The camera also has technologies to improve night scenes and backlit subjects. Its 4x optical zoom lens, 12.1-megapixel CCD, and 3-inch widescreen LCD monitor are part of this compact point-and-shoot camera. The Z400 can take up to 550 shots on a full charge.
