Drive the latest model MR2 Spyder sports cars. The MR2’s are mid engine, rear wheel drive cars with a 1.8 litre twin cam VVTi engine. They have a sequential five-speed gearbox and weigh only 975 kilograms making them exhilarating to drive.
Each person participates in a series of motor challenges designed to test their skills in acceleration, braking and handling ability while negotiating a set course. The courses are set out on a bitumen surface covering 7,000 sq/m. Each person’s time is recorded, added together, with the winner usually the smoothest and most consistent driver on the day.
Each person drives four different courses A, B, C and D and you get two runs at each one over the four hours (time permitting). There will be a maximum of 16 people on each event.
An instructor will give a demonstration at the start of each challenge to show the correct course. He or she will be sitting next to you and giving you pointers on each of your runs. You get to drive each of the two c
