Offer Description
The cool climate and gravelly loam soils of the Frankland River region in the South of Western Australia are well suited to the production of intense and elegantly structured wines. The grapes used in the production of this wine were sourced from the Alkoomi Frankland River vineyards. This wine, made from fruit picked between 13.5°and 14.5° Baum? to build complexity and heighten the flavour profile, was matured for 7 months in French oak hogsheads. Vintage:A warm, dry spring, followed by a moderate,dry summer, led to an early vintage. Colour:Deep red with purple hues at the rim. Bouquet:Blackberry and mulberry fruit aromas with a hint of bramble herbs, overlaid with cedar like oak.Palate:Medium to full bodied the 2007 Cabernet Merlotdisplays mulberry fruit flavours, and the delicate taste of sweet violets and anise, followed by a long finish of rich, ripe tannins. Cellaring:Ready to enjoy now, this wine may be cellaredfor two to three years and gain further complexity.
