6 x 2012 Red Claw Heathcote ShirazFrom $28.99
Want a reliable cellar filler that will keep getting better with age? The Red Claw Shiraz from Heathcote is a likely candidate, as this red is only just beginning to find its feet. It’s filled with the unique complexity garnered from ancient Cambrian soil and shows a swathe of black fruit, earth and spice on the nose. Amazing intensity on the palate with a great balance achieved between fruit, tannins and acid.
6 x 2012 Terre a Terre Wrattonbully Cabernet SauvignonFrom $30.99
A true artisan Cabernet Sauvignon this one, drawn from a close planted vineyard in the somewhat forgotten region of Wrattonbully, just outside of Coonawarra. What makes it special is the attention to detail - the long maceration, the careful use of oak, the power of those tannins. This wine is, in short, a superb Cabernet that deserves more attention.
6 x 12012 Plantagenet Omrah ShirazFrom $19.99
Since the mid-seventies the Plantagenet aim has just been to make the finest wine possible and this bargain priced Shiraz illustrates that perfectly. It’s a balanced barbecue performer capable of holding its own against gourmet sausages, ribs or even steak. A captivating fruit nose showing blueberry and plum plus a core of peppery spice and hints of vanillin oak. Concentrated yet complete, plush and round, this will put a smile on the dial of anyone who loves Shiraz.
6 x 2015 Tyrrell's Hunter Valley ChardonnayFrom $19.99
Some of our favorite blocks were selected for this wine. The nose is citrus with a slight hint of oak, the palate is weighted and generous and has the texture and complexities associated with time on lees. A rich and fresh Chardonnay, with subtle cream undertones, making it a perfect companion to chicken or pasta dishes. Excellent drinking upon release and will develop in complexity with short term bottle age. The ‘baby brother’ to our famous Vat 47 Chardonnay, our Hunter Valley Chardonnay is made to the same high standards that our flagship Chardonnay receives. An almost perfect growing season was experienced for the 2014 vintage, one of the best in recent memory. This meant that all of the fruit we harvested was in pristine condition and had beautiful flavour. Sourced from a small selection of our favourite Chardonnay blocks, the grapes were both hand and machine picked before gentle pressing and fermentation. The wine was matured in new and older French oak barriques, and spent all of this time on yeast lees to give the palate added complexity and texture.
