Mistletoe Hunter Shiraz 2013From $30
2013 was a difficult red vintage in the Hunter Valley and this resulted in Mistletoe only managing to harvest approximately 40% of the red grapes we desired. We rejected all other grapes as we didn't think they would make wine of the standard that we,and our customers, expect. This wine is a blend from two older Hunter vineyards, both over 40 years old.It is an excellent example of a quintessential Hunter Shiraz from a very good year.Unashamedly medium bodied, with 13.5% alcohol,it has beautiful ripe fruit in perfect balance with both tannins and oak. It is soft on the palate with excellent length and weight. This wine  only just missed out on our Reserve label. If you love Hunter Shiraz do yourself a favour and get in quick for this wine.... it will sell like crazy once word gets out.Only recently bottled it has yet to be judged on the wine show circuit. However,in its first outing it has picked up a 5 star rating from Winestate in a special tasting of wines for a feature on "From the Producer" www.fromtheproducer.com The review of this wine will appear in the Winestate 2014 Special Edition.
