ROCKFORD RIFLE RANGE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2011From $49.99
ROCKFORD RIFLE RANGE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2011: There’s not a lot of it, but it’s a beauty. There will be some customers who hold off because the spectres of the 2011 vintage have ‘possessed’ the collective psyche of the wine press, but they will be missing out on one of the most definitive Rockford Cabernets, ever. Exhibiting a varietal imprint that we see more often in our Home Block Cabernet, the aromas and flavours sing more of cassis and black olive than the usual chocolate. Sweeter fruit notes are tucked deeply into the wine, waiting for their moment to shine later in the wine’s maturity. With classic Rockford softness and sensual mouthfeel, it traverses the palate, caresses and lingers with long mineral persistence. This is a wine for the future, if you can resist its allure now, and if the uptake isn’t as rapid as it’s been for cabernets from more heralded recent vintages, we will be enthusiastically burying it deep in the Rockford cellar to be brought out in its glory, 10-15 years hence.Grant Dickson - Rockford Wines

SUCKFIZZLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008From $47.99
SUCKFIZZLE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008: Appearance: Intense garnet with red/purple hues. Aroma: Perfumed and intense; complex aromas of deep, dark berry fruits - cassis, redcurrants, dark cherries – with a seductive mocha oak overlay. Subtle floral notes emerge with time. The signature bay leaf element is buried deep in this rich and complex nose, still playing an important role. Palate: Classic Cabernet Sauvignon; powerful and structured. Very compact and dense, with the powerhouse fruit restrained by fine grained tannins and oak, just as it should be in great Cabernet. A long, yet not expansive, palate with great fruit length. Finishing with ample, beautifully structured tannins and a floral retro-nasal lift. This is a serious wine; Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon “to a T”, from a great vintage - not something to miss out on. Drink: Enjoy now and over the next 15-20 years

IZWAY ROB & LES SHIRAZ 2013From $27.99
IZWAY ROB & LES SHIRAZ 2013: Izway wines was conceived on a handshake between two Aussie wine makers in a chateau in Beaujolais. Brian Conway and Craig Isbel met during vintage at Chateau de Bluizard in 2002 and after many nights drinking pastis they decided to start their own winery in the Barossa Valley. Craig got to work seeking out half a tonne of Ebenezer Shiraz from a mate, and this fruit was crafted into the first ‘’Bruce’’ in 2003, with just the one barrique made. Izway Wines has evolved slowly and organically from there.?? In 2006 the guys bought 8 acres of land in the sub-region of Seppeltsfield which is on the western ridge of the Barossa. The property has 2 acres of Grenache planted in 1901 and 2 acres of Shiraz planted in 2000. Craig lives at the property and tends to the vineyards, growing the fruit organically and with a similar minimalist approach that Izway Wines adopts in the winery. Izway currently has plans to build a winery and cellar door on the property and hope it is functional for the 2015 vintage.
