Best Red Wine of Show 2014 Orange Wine ShowThe fruit in our latest Reserve Shiraz Viognier is from Ben and James Crossings’ Angullong vineyard in Orange NSW, at 660m altitude. This wine is a blend of 97% Shiraz with 3% Viognier.Viognier is added to provide aromatic complexity, and also to contribute texture to the palate. There are bright aromas of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, spice, musk. The palate has beautiful ripe flavours and mid-palate richness, and with a lovely lacing of ripe silky tannin. Balanced acidity provides structural support to the soft, round texture - perfect with red meat. This wine will age very well over the next 5 years.
