Increased traffic to Getprice has shown the the high-end retailers taking a bit of a hit, but the value retailers doing a roaring trade. Winter chills have also seen a rise in online sales of pharmaceuticals, from cold and flu medication to prescription drugs, and a massive increase in the sale of scarves and gloves.

Chris discusses the facts that can materialise in huge quantities of data, like a sudden upsurge in interest in the price of toilet paper. Also on the up are kitchen supplies and barbecues and lingerie, which Chris theorises may be due to the economic downturn and the desire for in-home entertainment. Searches for flat-screen TVs remain incredibly popular, as always.
Chris also discusses the effect of the economy on larger retailers, who seem to do better as people feel the need to pinch pennies. He argues that they stand to gain much from allowing their prices to be compared on Getprice.
