The current average ongoing cost of an NBN 50 plan is just over $87, so this introductory offer is a very good price. If you’re sceptical about Dodo’s performance, the provider came second when it comes to download speeds in the ACCC’s April 2026 Measuring Broadband Report, which is a massive improvement from last quarter when it came seventh. It’s currently discounted to $40 per month for the first six months, before increasing to $71.99 per month ongoing. Over the first year, you’ll pay a total of $671.94 (the equivalent of $55.99 per month) which sits comfortably below the $70 mark. After that, the ongoing price rises slightly above $70, but only by a small margin. At $71.99 per month (just $23.88 more per year), it’s a relatively minor jump, making this a solid long-term option if you can stretch your budget slightly. Don’t hesitate if you want to take advantage of this introductory offer because it is only available until May 29.

What speed can I expect from an NBN plan under $70?

As you can see from our above picks, the only NBN services that cost under $70 per month on an ongoing basis are NBN 25 plans, though there are some rare NBN 50 exceptions where a generous introductory discount that bring them to under $70 for the first 6 months. Unfortunately, there are no NBN 100 or NBN 500 plans – which are the next step up from NBN 50 – within this price range.

Are NBN plans under $70 good enough for streaming?

An NBN 25 plan should be good enough for streaming in HD on up to two devices simultaneously; however, if you want to stream movies or TV in 4K, you may notice buffering or slower start times, especially during peak evening hours.

Can I get NBN 50 for under $70?

It is possible, but not very common. At the moment, we’ve only found one NBN 50 plan that averages under $70 per month over the first year, thanks to a discounted rate for the first twelve months. After that introductory period ends, the price increases to be significantly above $70.
