Data hungry? Vodafone’s 365-day SIM plan ups the gigs and drops the price

The price of a monthly phone bill can really add up and cause a strain on your budget. However, if you know where to look and have the patience to shop around, there are often great deals to be found. Doing so will not only save you a fair bit of money, but you may end up with a phone plan that works better for your needs. 

If you want to spend as little as possible on a mobile plan, long-expiry prepaid phone plans are a good alternative to traditional postpaid contracts or monthly prepaid plans. While long-expiry plans mean that you have to pay a larger sum upfront, they also give you the luxury of setting and forgetting your phone bill for an extended period of time. As well as being convenient, long-expiry plans are also often cheaper than 28-day expiry plans or postpaid monthly plans.

Vodafone’s $320 prepaid Plus Starter Pack has a 365-day expiry and is currently discounted by $101, bringing it down to only $219 when you buy directly from Vodafone online or in store. This plan gets you a whopping 320GB of data for the first 365 days. When it comes to recharging, the price will go back up to $320 and you will only get 220GB. For the first 365 days though, this plan is great value, costing the equivalent of $18.25 for just over 26GB per month. This means that each GB costs a very reasonable $0.68. Other benefits of this plan include access to Vodafone’s 5G network and an included 6,000 international minutes to Zone 1 countries and 1,200 minutes to Zone 2. If you’re in a position to pay for a 365-day plan upfront, this is an excellent option for maximising your data while keeping your monthly costs low.
