With only a week left before Disney Plus hikes up its price for Aussies, now is your last chance to secure an annual subscription at the current price and save yourself $40 a year.

Disney Plus is one of the biggest streaming platforms in Australia, with an extensive library of shows and movies, ranging from classic Disney and Pixar titles to exclusive Marvel and Star Wars content and much more.

There is also lots of exciting new content coming to the platform this year, including Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour Concert Film which lands on 15 March and season three of critic and audience favourite The Bear. So, you definitely won’t want to miss out on securing a subscription at a lower price.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Disney Plus price increase coming in March 2024.

Disney Plus new price information

As of March 5, Disney Plus will offer two different plan options instead of the single option it has had up until now: Standard and Premium. The Standard plan will cost the same price as the current plan (so $13.99 per month, or $139 per year) but it’s actually a downgrade versus what you’re currently getting: there’s no 4K streaming any more, or being able to watch on four concurrent streams.

The Standard Plan will only offer 1080p (aka Full HD) video quality and a maximum of two concurrent streams at a time.

If you want to keep all of the features of your current Disney Plus subscription, you’ll have to upgrade to the new Premium Plan, which is set to cost $17.99 per month, or $179 per year. That adds up to an extra $47 per year if you pay monthly, or $40 annually if you have a yearly subscription.

Thankfully, there is still time to beat the price hike: if you sign up for the current Disney Plus annual plan before March 5, you’ll still pay just $139. This will save you $40 and give you access to all of the current streaming features for another full year.
