The 6 Black Friday beauty deals I’ve got on my wishlist
Makeup and skincare products can add up, here are the six things I’m hoping to pick up this sale season
Believe it or not, it’s already mid-November, which means that not only is Christmas just around the corner, but one of the biggest sales events of the year is fast approaching. This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 28 November and if you’re anything like me, you’re holding out for some good deals.
Just like I’ve done in previous years, I’m planning to do most of my Christmas shopping during the Black Friday sales, but I’ve also set aside a bit of money to spoil myself with a few things I’ve been eyeing off. I’ll also be taking the opportunity to stock up on some essentials while they’re discounted.
The main things I have on my Black Friday shopping list are beauty products. We all know just how much makeup and skincare products can cost and, as we approach Christmas, I’d really rather not spend more than necessary to replenish my beauty must-haves.
So, here are the six beauty products I am hoping to save on this Black Friday:
Skincare products
Cosrx Snail Mucin 92% Repair Cream
I first purchased the viral Cosrx Snail Mucin cream during an Amazon sale after seeing it all over my social media and becoming intrigued. The raving reviews of over 53,000 customers on Amazon also offered strong evidence that it wasn’t just hype. And after finally using the product, I was pleasantly surprised by the lightweight consistency of this cream. Not only was it super hydrating, but it sunk into the skin really well, without leaving a sticky or heavy film – which makes it perfect for the hotter days of the Australian summer. Unfortunately, I ran out of my previous supply a few months ago and haven’t gotten around to repurchasing. While it’s already fairly affordable at $24 a bottle, I am still holding out for a Black Friday discount… although I must admit that, even if it doesn’t go on sale, I’ll probably cave and pick up a tub anyway!
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant
I have been using Paula's Choice skincare for years now and I’m a big fan – though I don’t particularly love the price tag. I use the 2% BHA every night after cleansing and am almost due for a new bottle. With an RRP of $54 for a 118ml bottle, it’s definitely on the more expensive side so I'm hoping for a respectable discount so I can stock up.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Fluid SPF 50+
I’m someone who hates the feeling of thick products on my face, and as a result, it’s taken me a long time to start wearing sunscreen everyday. I know, I should probably have started doing this years ago, but until I tried the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted face sunscreen, I just hadn’t found one that I liked. Since discovering this product over a year ago (courtesy of my mum, who gave me a half used bottle of hers), it’s become an everyday staple, whether I’m wearing makeup over the top or not. I particularly love that it gives my face a little bit of colour (especially during winter) and that it doesn’t have a thick, sticky consistency like many other sunscreens. While its regular price of almost $40 for a 50ml bottle is quite pricey, the good news is that this product is often discounted. It’s currently 22% off at Amazon, bringing it down to just over $30 – although personally, I’m holding out in hope of scoring it for less than $25.
Makeup products
Maybelline New York Instant Perfector 4-in-1 Glow Foundation Makeup
Ever since a friend introduced me to this product, I haven’t worn another foundation. This will be my third bottle and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. This lightweight, glowy foundation is one of the first steps in my daily makeup routine (after sunscreen of course) and it gives the perfect glowy look. I’ve also heard that it offers a similar effect to Charlotte Tilbury’s viral Flawless Filter foundation, and for less than half price, I know which one I’m choosing.
MAC Cosmetics FIX + Original Setting Spray 100ml
I have used multiple setting sprays in the past and I’m not very fussy, I just want something that will stop my makeup from moving, especially during the hotter months. I am almost out of my current bottle (the Mecca Max Life Proof Setting Spray) and I’m looking for a replacement. I’ve used the MAC Cosmetics FIX + before and, while it’s a bit expensive, I‘ll definitely be picking it up if it goes on sale. Otherwise, I might try the MCoBeauty Miracle Flawless Setting Spray, which is currently on sale down to just $16.80 (a neat 40% off) at Adore Beauty.
Glasshouse Fragrances Night Before Christmas 280g Soy Candle
My partner and I love burning candles, but this does mean we tend to go through them very quickly. So, every Christmas, birthday and big sale, I try to pick one up. Our recent go-to has been the Palm Beach Collection Coconut & Lime candle, which I last picked up from The Iconic when it was on sale in August. This Christmas, I’d love something festive, so I’ve been eyeing off the Glasshouse Fragrances Night Before Christmas candle. It usually costs around $60, so this is definitely one I’ll be waiting for a sale on.
