For most Australians these days, internet access is essential — making your monthly bill an unavoidable cost. And unfortunately, access to the NBN is about to become more expensive for most plans.

NBN Co has announced that there’ll be a new wholesale pricing structure for the next financial year — meaning prices for providers are going up. Some providers have already started passing on those costs by hiking the prices of their NBN plans — and more are expected to follow suit come July 1.

The proposed changes introduce price increases for all NBN speed tiers, from 25Mbps to 1,000Mbps and plans are expected to rise by around $2 to $3 per month, which should equate to around $5 for consumers.

If you’re worried about increasing prices and want to maximise your savings, now is the time to look at switching plans and securing an introductory discount. Luckily, being EOFY, there are quite a few NBN providers with compelling deals at the moment, including, Swoop, Superloop and Tangerine Telecom

Signing up to one of these deals will lock in a discounted price for the first 6 months, meaning that you can at least delay the price increase for a while.

To help you find a good deal that will save you some extra cash, we’ve rounded up four great plans at popular speeds with limited-time offers that are worth jumping on.
