As the Aussie arm of the biggest online retailer in the world, Amazon AU stocks just about anything you could possibly think of, from popular tech items, home appliances, beauty products, clothing and footwear and even non-perishable groceries.
One thing in short supply at Amazon, however, has been support for buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) services. While the retailer has offered Zip Pay to Australian shoppers for over 5 years, that's been the sole option for BNPL fans up to now, with other industry bigwigs, Afterpay and Humm, nowhere to be found.
That's all changed as of September 2025. If you're one of the millions of Aussies who regularly use Afterpay to manage their purchases, you're in luck because Amazon Australia has just announced that shoppers will now be able to use the service, both in the online store and via the mobile app.
Amazon's even running a limited-time Afterpay promo where you can snag $10 off purchases over $120 when using Afterpay. Simply apply the coupon code AFTERPAY10 at the checkout – although note that some exclusions do apply.

If you aren't familiar with Afterpay, the BNPL platform allows customers to purchase products and then pay them off in four equal, interest-free payments over six weeks. Afterpay is broadly available at dozens of Australian retailers and can be used when shopping both online and in-store. Other popular retailers that support Afterpay include The Iconic, Myer, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, as well as service-oriented brands like Uber and Menulog.
To use the payment method, all Amazon customers have to do is have an Afterpay account and then select the BNPL service at checkout.
Amazon is well known for having multiple big sales events during the year, including its massive Prime Day sale, its EOFY sale and more.
Afterpay also has its own exclusive sales, which are often held twice a year (usually in March and August) – called Afterpay Day. The events see retailers with support for Afterpay running exclusive and sometimes all-time low discounts for Afterpay users.
The new partnership potentially opens the door to Amazon participating in Afterpay Day events – though that’s purely speculation at this point, and historically the online retail giant has preferred to do its own thing when it comes to big sales events. Of course, from here on out, Afterpay users will be able to take advantage of Amazon’s own sales events anyway.
