Oppo Find N3 could find fortune with foldable fanatics
Slim proportions, big and bright screens, plus advanced imagery could make it a winner

Oppo has taken the wraps off its latest flagship folding phone, the Find N3. Unveiling the device in Singapore and confirming it will hit Australian shores in mid-November, the Oppo Find N3 aims to continue the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s streak of ensuring the flip and foldable markets aren’t just a one-brand monopoly.
Oppo’s first foray into foldables was the Find N in 2021, then came the flipable Find N2. Now Oppo has returned back to its foldable roots for the Find N3. Sporting two large displays, no matter the orientation, you’ll find a 6.3-inch display on the external side and, when unfolded, you’re greeted with a 7.8-inch screen.
Oppo has seemingly been keen to ensure both displays offer the same experience, and as such, both display “over 425 pixels per inch” and support 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates. Oppo also claims the screens are capable of reaching a retina-searing 2,800 nits peak brightness.
Running the show is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and just a single, 512GB storage option will be available. You’ll also get 16GB RAM and a 4,800mAh battery for “day-long” power. If you find your juice levels running low, the Find N3 supports Oppo’s 67W Supervooc fast charging, which promises to get you back up to 100% from empty in 42 minutes.
The folding nature of the Find N3 is facilitated by the company’s third-generation Flexion Hinge, which allows both sections of the phone to fold flat against each other. Oppo claims this latest iteration is smaller still – the second-generation was made smaller than the first – yet has managed to make it more durable and is now said to be capable of withstanding 1 million folds. It also gets IPX4 splash resistance.
The moot point for many foldables is whether or not you can see the crease when the screen is fully unfolded, and in this regard, Oppo claims the Find N3’s crease is “barely there” thanks to a self-healing layer applied over the top of the display, which helps to “smooth out scuffs.”
One of the big draws to folding and flipping phones is just how pocketable they are and when closed, the Oppo Find N3 comes in at 11.7mm thick. When fully opened, it measures a svelte 5.8mm. Both figures make the Oppo Find N3 slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which measures 13.4mm and 6.1mm when folded and unfolded.

As for cameras, the Oppo Find N3 gets three lenses, enabling it to cater to three full-frame equivalent lengths of 14mm, 24mm and 70mm. One of the cameras uses Sony’s latest LYTIA-T808 48MP sensor, which appears in a foldable phone for the first time. This two-layer stacked CMOS sensor claims to be able to create more space within which to receive light, resulting in greater detail and reduced noise. The Find N3 also gets a periscope telephoto camera, although Oppo hasn't specified how far you can zoom.
When the Oppo Find N3 lands in Australia in mid-November for $2,699, it will come running Android 13 with the company’s own ColorOS 13.2 over the top, and will be able to support four years of software updates and five years of security updates.
