Fortunately Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters can sing, dance and, when required, chop off the heads of the walking dead. It has become an essential life skill ever since The Black Plague turned the English countryside into a war zone and the dead have come back to life to terrorise the living.Elizabeth is particularly skilled in martial arts and weaponry and when fate leads her to join forces with Mr Darcy, a consummate zombie slaver, his pride and her prejudice threaten to prevent what could be a killer combination. As the zombie outbreak intensifies and even genteel gatherings at country manors are threatened by the walking dead, Elizabeth and Darcy must cast aside their differences in order to save their Families, their society, their empire.ActorLily JamesActorsLily James, Sam Riley, Douglas Booth, Matt SmithAspect Ratio2.40:1 LetterboxAudioDolby Digital 5.1AudiosDolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital 2.0Box SetNoDirectorBurr SteersDirectorsBurr SteersGenreActionLanguageEnglishLanguagesEnglish, English Audio Descriptive, English CaptionsNumber of Discs1OFLCMA15+OFLC AdviceStrong comedic violencePlayers LocalNoProducerMarc ButanProducersMarc ButanRegion4Regions4Retails Rating6.0Run Time103Second HandNoStock TypeMovieSubtitleNot SpecifiedSubtitlesNot SpecifiedTV SeriesNoVideo EncodingPALYear Made2015

  5. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

One of the most famous opening lines in English literature, the most compelling of stories, and a host of vivid characters, has won Pride and Prejudice its rightful pride-of-place on bookshelves throughout the world. For Mr Bennet, a quiet life is to be highly commended. For Mrs Bennet, finding eligible husbands for her five daughters is the most important of a mother's duties. For Elizabeth, marrying without affection is unthinkable. But for them all, life is about to change when a handsome young man and his equally handsome and wealthy companion, take residence nearby. Grand country estates, beautiful women, and eligible young men all play their part in this unforgettable story that has delighted readers for 200 years. A story where comedy, heartache and romance interweave to make Pride and Prejudice one of the most popular and enduring novels in the English language. About the Author Jane Austen was born in the small village of Steventon in Hampshire on 16th December 1775. She was the seventh of eight children and throughout her life was especially close to her only sister, Cassandra. Jane never married and only once, very briefly, was engaged. In 1814, giving advice to a niece, and echoing Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, she wrote, "Anything is to be preferred or endured rather than marrying without affection." She was 36 before her first novel was published and during her lifetime she made little more than 700 from her writing. Her novels, however, have proved enduringly popular, and since 1833 have never been out of print. Jane became ill in 1816 and died in the arms of her sister on 18th July 1817. She was 41 years old. Cassandra wrote, "I have lost such a sister, such a friend as can never have been surpassed... She was the sun of my life." Four of Jane's novels were published during her lifetime: "Sense and Sensibility" (1811), "Pride and Prejudice" (1813), "Mansfield Park" (1814) and "Emma" (1816). "Northanger Abbey" and "Persuasion" were published pos

  6. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith

'It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.' So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton — and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers — and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read. About The Authors Seth Grahame-Smith once took a class in English literature. He lives in Los Angeles. Jane Austen is the author of Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and other masterpieces of English literature.

  9. Pride and Prejudice (Barnes & Noble Signature Edition)

Elizabeth Bennet has no trouble making up her mind about Mr. Darcy. From the moment he enters the ball, he seems stiff, arrogant, and obnoxious. When Elizabeth overhears Darcy’s charming friend Mr. Bingley suggest that he ask her to dance, Darcy’s curt dismissal of the notion confirms her worst expectations. Despite his good looks, superior education, and vast wealth, Darcy is a stuffy, self-important snob, and the perfect target for Elizabeth’s well-aimed wit. When her beloved sister Jane falls ill while visiting Mr. Bingley’s sisters, Elizabeth rushes to Jane’s sickbed and is forced to stay at the Bingleys’ elegant rented manor for several days. She discovers that Mr. Bingley is falling deeply in love with Jane, that his sisters will do anything to prevent him from marrying her, and that Darcy is every bit as impossible as he appeared on first impression.Despite Elizabeth’s negative feelings about Darcy, fate seems determined to keep throwing this mismatched pair together, and Darcy, almost in spite of himself, will make revelations that will end up causing Elizabeth to question everything she believes-not only about him, but about her own good judgment.Set in a time when marrying well was a woman’s only way to assure a secure and comfortable future, Pride and Prejudice is arguably the forerunner of all romantic comedies and certainly one of the best-loved, most imitated novels of all time.
