  11. Cienna is a grape variety that was 'invented' right here in Oz. It's a cross between the Spanish sumoll grape and cab sav, and it displays vibrant aromas of spiced red berries on the nose, whilst the palate is nimble and juicy fruity with a touch of sweetness, a soft, more-ish mouthfeel, and a gentle, spritzy finish. It's a red you can chill down, and did we mention it's only 7.5% alcohol?

  13. The Prosecco party is just beginning to gain momentum and the King Valley wineries are the ones pioneering this Italian Sparkling style, which makes sense as they are expressing their heritage and the climate and soil conditions in the upper part of the Valley are favourable. A perfect aperitif style of sparkling, this pairs well with sashimi as it’s clean with lovely natural acid. The nose displays fresh apple, citrus and pear, which follow through to the crisp, fresh palate delivering great intensity and a refreshing finish. Watch Cracka's Video Review

  14. Brown Brothers has been a trusted name in wine for longer than most can remember, and this durif is certainly a departure from the ballsy styles the variety can produce. Hailing from a fantastic year in Heathcote, it weighs in at around 14% alcohol and displays smells of dark berries and plums, subtle spice and a touch of smokiness on the nose before the palate kicks in with supple dark fruit flavours, a decent line of slightly chewy tannins, and a smooth, spicy finish. Some rare roast meats would go down well with this.

  15. The fizz- factor is high in this Non vintage release from the masters of sparkling, Brown Brothers. Thanks to vineyards in the cool of the King Valley they can craft a tasty blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier that is elegant and finessed. Sprightly aromas of fresh apple and citrus that cascades creamily across the palate providing refreshment but ending dry. The best thing would be to pair it with some smoked salmon canapés or some oysters with a squirt of lemon. Watch Cracka's Video Review

  16. Here we have a dryer, lower alcohol prosecco that would be great as a party starter with some tempura prawn nibbles. Scents of Granny Smith apples, green pears, roast nuts and lemons rise from the glass, whilst the palate is light and racy, with just a kiss of sweetness upfront before the citrusy acidity and spritziness rushes in to cleanse the palate leading to a dry-ish, bright finish.

  17. Zibibbo is related to the muscat grape, and it's actually pretty close to moscato. It certainly produces a similar style of wine in the fruity, low-alcohol (8%) vein. Grapy, muskstick and red berry aromas rise from the glass, whilst the palate is light-hearted, spritzy and quite sweet, with strawberry flavours and a soft, effervescent finish. Chill it down and enjoy with a fruit platter.

  18. Everything Spanish is so cool right now - Tapas, bull fighting and of course Spain's finest grape - Tempranillo. This tasty little number shows some savoury, Spanish red cherry fruits with typical earth and spice. It is elegant style, with good intensity, and soft tannins to make it great with a little Tapas, although it certainly drinks just fine by itself.

  19. Here we have a totally smashable, unoaked, crisp style of white weighing in at 10.5% alcohol that would be perfect with a bit of seafood. There's a heap of citrus and apples on the nose, whilst the palate is fresh, clean and light-bodied, with juicy citrus and tropical flavours and a crunchy, dry finish. It's made to drink over the next couple of years, so chill it down and enjoy!

  20. The Grigio coming out of the King Valley is properly Italian in style and one of the pioneers are Brown Brothers who continue to produce a crisp, lean style of dry white that’s perfect with antipasto platters or white fish. Varietal and fresh, this wine shows pear and citrus, and some savoury characters on the nose and palate. It’s crisp with delicate fruit and crisp acids providing a wine that’s true to the Grigio style.
