  4. 2012 was a pretty good year down south, and this Pepperjack cab sav from Saltram represents good value when you think it will kick on in the cellar for another 5-years or so. Atypical cab sav smells of cassis, crushed leaves, mint and fleshy plums lift from the glass, along with hints of mocha courtesy of the oak. The palate is fuller-bodied and plushly fruited, with deep plummy and blackcurrant flavours, licks of earth and chocolate, a kick of mint, fine tannins, and a sense of softness and generosity to the smooth finish.
