It may seem simple, but the Google Pixel 9 Pro is the only Pro phone to do it: give you everything you’d expect from a big Pro phone, in a smaller package. You don’t lose any zoom or megapixels. You don’t get less RAM or processing power. The Pixel 9 Pro is the phone that smaller-phone fans have been begging for – the phone that Apple and Samsung refuse to make. Whether it lives up to its promise is something we'll need to establish during our in-depth review process, and the AI features seem a mixed bag of treats and tricks. Still, I hope the Pixel 9 Pro sets a standard others will follow, because like many folks, I’ve missed having a smaller phone that doesn’t make me feel like a lesser owner.
