  7. 98 Points Nick Stock for James Suckling 5 Stars and Best Riesling Winewise Championship 2017 Top Gold Royal Adelaide Wine Show Gold National Wine Show Gold National Canberra Wine Show Gold Barossa Wine Show 97 Points Jane Faulkner for James Halliday’s Wine Companion Released as a 5 Year old. Andrew Wigan has had a hand in every Peter Lehmann wine since the first vintage in 1980. He revolutionised white winemaking with his passion for Riesling. This wine is named in his honour. From the shallow rocky soils of the Eden Valley – one of the great Riesling sites of the world – the Wigan Riesling has become one of Australia’s most celebrated wines. It has been named ‘Best Riesling in the World’ in the International Wine and Siprit Competition six times in the past decade, and accumulated more than 80 trophies since its inaugural vintage as ‘Wigan’ in 2003 (previously ‘Reserve’ Riesling). A mature wine with remarkable youth on the palate. “Maturity meets freshness here to deliver a riesling that is simply stunning. It’s totally true to its Eden Valley roots, offering varietal perfume and “chalky” regional character. A few years in bottle has allowed the flavour to build and the palate to fill out.” – 5 Stars and Best Riesling Winewise Championship 2017 “It's toasty yet fresh. It's complex yet approachable. A glorious amalgam of flavours from glace lemon and lime, juicy with superfine acidity ensuring it's in a good spot today and for some time yet.” – 97 Points Jane Faulkner for James Halliday’s Wine Companion “This has impressive power and the gentle weathering of five years in bottle has delivered a wine with immense charm. Lemon and quartz, from start to finish, smoky minerals, fine-etched acidity, and great length. A benchmark. Drink now or hold for another decade or maybe two” – 98 Points Nick Stock for James Suckling

  8. “outstanding future." – 96 Points James Halliday 95 Points Huon Hooke Following the brilliant 2015, mother nature provided a dramatic encore in producing another remarkable vintage in 2016. The El Nino had started to throw its weight around, giving us consistently warm and dry conditions, but then, a counter punch to the rising drought: 90mm of rain in the last week of January. Perfect timing and an undoubted blessing given the heat that was rolling down the line. The thermometer hit the mid-30s pretty regularly through February and March. The grapes ripened at a steady clip but one key factor put a brake on their progress: the size of the crop. Not more bunches necessarily, but certainly more grapes per bunch. Flavours developed beautifully while acids regally held their ground. To my palate the acid impact is perfectly balanced. A Riesling for lovers of the mythical minerality. It will be very long lived. – Source Winery "Pale straw-green; accelerates continuously from the first floral whiff through to the aftertaste; the mid-palate progressively builds ripe lime flavours as the wine is retasted, but is matched by the flinty acidity of the finish and lingering aftertaste. Sustained by that acidity, it has an outstanding future." – 96 Points James Halliday “Effortless drinking here, with a high quality feel. Zips along on piercing acidity that drills a zingy hole through the juicy, cool, limey fruit character found in the wine. Aromas are floral, citrussy, lime and kaffir lime leaf, ginger scented, faintly yeasty. Pretty as. Fresh, flirty, then finishes with fine, chalk-meets-crushed-slate vibe. That tight clip to the finish says cellar long.” – 93+ Points Mike Bennie “Bright, light straw colour with green tints. The aromas are scintillating fresh, clean, bright and lifted. Citrus blossoms. Very delicate on the palate as well as nose. Restrained, refined, subtle and clean. A slight saltiness to finish." – 95 Points Huon Hooke
