If you’re after some premium flagship-flair at around half the price, then the Galaxy J7 Prime from Samsung is the perfect solution. A full metal, unibody design and an impressive 5.5-inch Full HD display make for a dazzling package, and with a powerful camera, processor and impressive battery life rounding out the spec sheet, this isn’t a phone to miss.
How’s the camera?
Considering the J7 Prime is well and truly a mid-range phone, even bordering on the budget price range, the camera performs remarkably well. A 13MP, f/1.9 primary camera focuses quickly and is excellent for daytime photography. It won’t be as flashy as other offerings from Samsung, but you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck with this efficient shooter.
Is it as powerful as it looks?
3GB of RAM is very impressive for a mid-range phone — for some context, that’s the same as an iPhone 7 Plus — and some J7 Prime models come with a whopping 4GB (so keep an eye out when you shop) and paired up with an Exynos 7870 makes for some seriously speedy multitasking. While you may not be able with the latest VR games, this is more than enough oomph for your everyday user, and then some.
Will the battery last as long as the flagships?
The J7 Prime’s 3,300mAh battery is comparable to batteries in much higher-end models and will comfortably last you a day of heavy usage. If you’re after the Galaxy J7 Prime for its value and don’t necessarily see yourself as a power user, then the battery should last you up to two days of everyday usage.
