  6. Here's a wine for the connoisseur. The palate is complex, with flavours of smoke, liquorice, blueberry and toasty oak on a savoury, super-ripe and gentle structure. It's impeccably aged and drinking beautifully now - but feel free to pop it in the cellar till 2020!

  7. Something Special The 2004 Brut Vintage from Champagne Pol Roger is made from the traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 20 Grands and Premiers crus vineyards in the “montagne de Reims” and the “côte des blancs”. Produced only in limited quantities the Brut Vintage 2004 has been aged for 9 years their cellars before being released onto the market. Established in 1849, Champagne Pol Roger is one of the few remaining great family-owned Champagne producers. They are wines of finesse and elegance with a dependancy on chardonnay as the primary grape influence. Recently they were awarded a royal Warrant of Appointment to HM Queen Elizabeth II. "...Pol Roger excels at vintage and its 2004 has a wonderful complexity and persistence. A blend of 60 per cent pinot noir and 40 per cent chardonnay drawn from 20 premier and grand cru vineyards, it was aged for eight years in Pol's very cold cellars before being disgorged..." - Philip Rich, Australian Financial Review, 12 December 2014 This is not parallel imported stock and comes straight from the Champagne house itself, ensuring quality control and excellence.

  8. Trophy Winner 97 Points & Special Value Wine James Halliday This beautifully poised Tasmanian Rosé has bright red fruit and complexity from the seven years of tirage. A well structured and elegant style with immense complexity and persistence. Bright and fresh strawberry fruit dominate the initial flavour rise which gives way to complex secondary characters of truffle and yeast extract. This wine has great structural elegance with an impeccable balance of tannin, natural acidity and dosage. “Trophy winner at the Tasmanian Wine Show '17, two-thirds pinot noir, and spent 7 years on yeast lees. Like all Arras wines, it has an extra level of textural and flavour complexity derived partly from the fruit, partly from extended time on lees, balanced by tangy acidity.” – 97 Points & Special Value Wine James Halliday

  18. What a remarkable wine this is. Drawn from southern Tasmania, which is hardly the first place you think of in Cabernet terms, this is a wonderful elegant red with beautiful cedary Cabernet characters and lovely tannins. Bordeaux meet Tasmania!

  19. Forget the French stuff, this is a rather viable alternative. The Kreglinger Vintage Brut is effectively the top sparkling wine for Tasmania's Pipers Brook, with it once going under the 'Pirie' label (when it was still famous winemaker Andrew Pirie's baby) and receiving no shortage of accolades in the process. The quality hasn't dipped even though it is now called Kreglinger (which is quite a tongue twister of a name) with this built in a very serious, full bodied sparkling style of power and concentration.

  20. Here we have a fuller-bodied shiraz out of the Barossa that has the benefit of a few years in bottle, so it is nice and soft to drink. Smells of preserved plums, cherries and savouriness decorate the nose, whilst the palate is full and still rich, with plum and earthy flavours, mellow tannins, and a a kick of vanilla in the tail. Still has a few years in it and would be great with slow-roast lamb shoulder.
