Muir’s Radio and Electrical Centre (now known as The Good Guys) was first opened in Melbourne in 1952 by the Muir Family.
The store was renamed The Good Guys in 1998 and became very popular with its catch phrase “Pay Less Pay Cash” and various TV commercials featuring the iconic song (“Come in and see the Good Good Good Guys”) which helped the company expand nationally.
Today, there are over 100 The Good Guys stores across Australia and 3,500 employees nationwide. It also has an online store which allows customers to shop from the comfort of their own homes and have their purchases delivered to their doors, or alternatively opt for click and collect from a selected local store.

The Good Guys membership program
The Good Guys customer membership program is called Gold Service Extras. As a member, every time you make a purchase, you earn StoreCash which can then be used to save on a future purchase.
If you’re interested in becoming a member, you can purchase a membership with any eligible product. The cost will depend on the product price, product type and the length of membership you choose.
Once you become a member, you are given access to a digital wallet that you can keep on your smartphones and use whenever you make a purchase at The Good Guys. This is also where your StoreCash will be stored.
Be aware that StoreCash is only available for 90 days and if you don’t use it before then, it will expire.
Another perk that comes with a Gold Service Extras membership is the 30 day price guarantee. This means that if a Gold Service Extra member buys something from The Good Guys and sees that the price of that item is reduced by more than $5 within 30 days from purchase at either The Good Guys or another approved retailer, they can claim back 120% of the difference as StoreCash.
In addition, members get access to Bonus StoreCash offers, member-only sales events, exclusive VIP offers and more.
