After launching a couple of new shavers for facial hair, American men’s grooming brand Manscaped has returned to its roots with the release of the Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra groin and body hair trimmer.
Offering more than just a standard fast-moving blade designed to keep your nether regions neat and tidy, the Manscaped Lawn Mower 5.0 can give you a closer shave than ever before all over your body, thanks to the inclusion of a new SkinSafe Foil Blade. This Foil Blade is similar to the one found on The Handyman, in that it’s capable of cutting closer to the skin than Manscaped’s long standing SkinSafe Trimmer Blade, resulting in a super smooth finish for your torso, arms, legs or anywhere else you wish to rid of hair.
Whilst the Manscaped Lawn Mower 5.0 can theoretically be used for your face, it’s not recommended, since it’s going to spend most of its time downstairs. Just for hygiene reasons.
Other updates to the Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra compared to its 4.0 predecessor include a new light and travel lock button. On previous models, there was just a singular power button that automatically turned the built-in flashlight on at the same time, to help you see where the blades were going. This button didn’t require much force to turn the trimmer on, meaning it could easily power on when in a toiletry bag during travel, for example.
That has now been addressed, and not only can the new button on the Lawn Mower 5.0 adjust the flashlight to two different temperatures – warm and cool – but a longhold press will lock the trimmer so it can’t be turned on. The main power button is now separate.
Elsewhere, its business as usual for the Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra offering: three length settings thanks to the two adjustable attachable combs, Manscaped’s SkinSafe Trimmer blade that runs at the same 7,700rpm speed no matter the battery level, and USB-C charging. Wireless Qi charging is also supported and you’ll get up to 60-minutes run time from a full charge. If and when it does run out of juice, a 10-minute charge will get you enough power for a quick shave. It’s also fully waterproof, even when you remove the blade itself, meaning you can rinse it under a tap to clean it, and use it in the shower if you wish.
