Get ready to mark your calendars because Amazon Prime Day is coming back this July. Starting on July 16, this Prime Day sale isn’t just a 65-hour event like previous years. For the first time ever, we’re getting an entire six days of deals with the sale ending on July 21.

Prime Day is arguably Amazon’s biggest annual sale – bigger even than the retailer’s Black Friday sale we could say – and held exclusively for Prime members. So, if you want in this year and are keen on bagging the best offers, you might want to consider signing up for a Prime subscription now. This will get you a 30-day free trial that will cover the duration of the sale, and you can always cancel the membership if you aren’t too keen on paying for it.

In previous years we’ve seen jaw-dropping discounts on a vast range of products, including top tech items such as PlayStations, iPhones, smartwatches and Bluetooth speakers, as well as a range of fashion and accessories, homeware products and much more. We’re expecting to see the same again this year and, considering the sale is going to last longer than it ever has, this year might just be the best chance to score some stupendous bargains on a variety of items.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?

As stated above, Amazon Prime Day 2024 will run for six days, starting at 00:01am AEST on Tuesday, July 16 and ending at 11:59pm AEST on Sunday, July 21. This gives Amazon Prime members longer than ever before to shop a vast selection of deals and discounts.

How much does Amazon Prime membership cost?

In Australia, an Amazon Prime subscription costs $9.99 per month or $79 annually and, if you haven’t signed up before, you get a 30-day free trial to see if you like it before committing any cash to it. As well as being able to access exclusive Amazon Prime deals, Prime members also get lots of other perks, including free express shipping on eligible items, free international delivery on purchases costing AU$49 or more, free access to some other Amazon services like Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading and more!

Will there be a second Prime Day in 2024?

Last year Amazon held another sale called Prime Big Deal Days in October. While officially not promoted as a second Prime Day, it was too similar to the main sale to not be dubbed as Prime Day 2. While we can’t be sure if this will happen again this year, we have high hopes that we will see a second Amazon Prime sale later this year.

When are Amazon's other sales?

While Amazon Prime Day sales are only available to Prime members, Amazon holds multiple other sales throughout the year featuring discounts that are available to everyone.

These sales include Amazon’s mid-year sale in June, Black Friday in November and Boxing Day in December.

How to find the best Prime Day deals

Prime Day 2024 promises to be a shopping event you don't want to miss. With exclusive discounts, lightning deals, and incredible offers across various categories, there's something for every Prime member. So, sign up for Amazon Prime now, mark your calendar, and get ready to shop 'til you drop during this year's Prime Day.

Here are a few tips to help you make the most of the sale:

  • Sign up for a Prime membership: While anyone with a free Amazon account can shop deals, the best offers are exclusive to paying members
  • Download the Amazon app: If you've never used the app before, you could get an additional discount on your first purchase
  • Create a Wishlist: Amazon allows you to save the items you would like to purchase into a wish list, with the prices getting updated in real time and you can add them to cart when you're happy with the offer
  • Get Alexa to create a list: If you have an Alexa speaker – like an Echo smart speaker or display – you can start a shopping list by saying, "Alexa, start a Prime Big Deals Day list" and you can keep adding items to your shopping list as you think of them in the lead up to the sale
