Afterpay Day sales happen twice a year and offer a great opportunity for shoppers to pick up products from their favourite brands at discounted prices.
The first Afterpay Day of 2024 ran in March and the second sale of 2024 is on now and will run for a total of four days, from Thursday, August 15 to Sunday, August 18.

What is Afterpay Day?
Afterpay Day is a four day sales event that occurs in March and August each year. Across the four days, a big variety of retailers will offer deals and bargains on a range of goods, including homewares, clothes, tech and games, sometimes offering up to 70% off during the sale.
As the name implies, shoppers are encouraged to use Afterpay at checkout to snatch up these bargains, however it isn't mandatory. Retailers that participate in Afterpay Day are those that accept the buy now, pay later payment service, but you're free to pay in whichever way you wish.
However, some sites such as eBay will reserve extra-saving coupons for customers who do use Afterpay to pay for their items, so you’ll need to be eligible to use the service in a few instances to pick up extra discounts.
When is Afterpay Day 2024?
The first Afterpay Day of 2024 will run from Thursday, 14 March to Sunday, 17 March.
The date of the second Afterpay Day sale has not yet been confirmed but will most likely occur in August as it has in previous years.
Do I need to pay with Afterpay?
Afterpay Day does encourage buyers to use Afterpay as the payment method at checkout, however not all retailers will lock shoppers into doing so. It all depends on the retailer, but places such as Myer, Bing Lee, Target and Big W will often just offer a general discount across a range of goods with no expectation on the shopper to use Afterpay at checkout.
