Samsung Galaxy S24 series pre-orders: cheapest outright and on-plan deals

Samsung has just announced the upcoming release of its newest phone, the Samsung Galaxy S24. 

This phone will come in three different versions, the standard Samsung Galaxy S24, the big screen Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus and the premium Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.  

The starting price for the standard Galaxy S24 is $1,399, while it’s $1,699 for the S24 Plus and $2,199 for the S24 Ultra. 

The phones are now available for pre-order at multiple Australian retailers including Samsung, Amazon, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys as well as available on plans from various telcos including Vodafone, Optus and Telstra. The phones will officially launch on February 7, 2024.  

The headlining new feature of the Samsung Galaxy S24 is Galaxy AI. This is meant to amplify almost all user experiences, from live translation of phone calls and text message chats to the AI photo editing tool that allows users to erase, re-compose and remaster images, and much more.  

These phones also have upgraded night-shooting (aka ‘Nightography’) camera capabilities. In fact, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has 1.6 times larger pixels that are capable of absorbing more light to make distant objects look clear.

The cheapest pre-order plan available for the Galaxy S24 (256GB model) is Vodafone’s 36-month Small Plan, which nets you a $200 discount on the handset. This means you pay $49 for the plan, plus a device repayment of $33.30 per month. You’re saving $5.56 per month on the latter, for a total $200 over the 36 month period. The total minimum monthly cost is $82.30. (Total minimum cost over 36 months is $1,442.40.)

Telstra is offering a free Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet with the pre-order of any Samsung Galaxy S24, including this standard model.
