About Samsung AU

Samsung was founded in 1938 in South Korea by Lee Byung-chul. It started as a trading company mostly dealing with groceries, textiles and other commodities. In 1969, Lee Byung-chul founded Samsung Electronics as a division within the Samsung Group. The division's role was to focus on the production of consumer electronics such as televisions, calculators and refrigerators, however over the years it grew into a separate entity and is now one of the world’s leading technology companies.Today, Samsung is best known for its electronics including its smartphones, televisions, tablets, smartwatches and home appliances. In particular, the Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones have solidified the company as a major player in the mobile industry, competing with the likes of Apple’s iPhone. Samsung is also still a big name in the home appliance market, selling a wide range of products including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, cooking appliances, air conditioners and more. Samsung’s home appliance products are known for their innovative designs, energy efficiency and smart connectivity. As well as being sold directly on the Samsung website, Samsung's products are also available to purchase at a range of third party retailers including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman.
