What is Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime is Amazon’s subscription service that offers its members multiple perks. Prominent among them are free and fast delivery on eligible items, including one-day delivery to select Sydney and Melbourne postcodes. Another major highlight included in the subscription is free access to some of Amazon’s own services, like Prime Video, Prime Reading and Prime Gaming. Members also get to shop during the exclusive Amazon Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days sales.
An Amazon Prime subscription costs $9.99 a month or $79 annually, the latter offering more value for money by saving you $40.88 over the monthly price over a period of 12 months. New members can get a 30-day free trial to Amazon Prime to see if they like it before committing to the paid subscription.
When is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day usually occurs in July with the date changing yearly. In 2023 it was held on July 11 - 12.
As well as Amazon Prime Day in 2023, Amazon also had its first Prime Big Deal Days which was essentially a second Amazon Prime Day sale where Prime members were given exclusive access to lots of big discounts again in October.
Can non Amazon Prime members get free delivery?
Yes, non Amazon Prime members can get free delivery on eligible orders over $59. For an order to be eligible, it has to be fulfilled by Amazon AU;, orders from independent sellers may have different shipping fees.
What is Amazon’s return policy?
Amazon gives buyers up to 90 days to make returns and you can either receive a refund directly to your Amazon account or to the payment method you used.
If you want to return something to Amazon, you can do this as long as items are unused, undamaged and unworn and are in good condition.
Most items shipped by Amazon locally and internationally come with a return label inside the packaging, so it would be good to hold on to that in case a return needs to be made. Who owns Amazon?
Amazon is still owned by founder Jeff Bezos, but day-to-day business of the company is conducted via a CEO appointed by the Amazon board.
Does Amazon offer Afterpay?
No, Amazon doesn’t offer Afterpay, however it does offer Zip Pay, which is a similar buy now, pay later service.

Sign up for Amazon Prime: Signing up for Amazon Prime will give you access to lots of perks, including free delivery on millions of eligible products. Prime Members also get access to exclusive sales such as Amazon Prime Day where they can save on hundreds of items.
Shop the big sales: There are a few big dates on Amazon’s shopping calendar, with the two biggest sales being Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday. While you’ll need to be a Prime member to shop during Amazon Prime Day, anyone can shop during Amazon’s yearly Black Friday sales, Mid-Year sales and Boxing Day sales.
Look out for Lightning deals: Lightning Deals are specific deals on Amazon that are available in a limited quantity for a limited time. They can be available for as little as a few hours, or even less if the deal is quickly snapped up. We’ve found that the best Lightning Deals are generally available during the big sale periods such as Prime Day and Black Friday.
Use Amazon’s Subscribe & Save: If you want to buy groceries and everyday household items from Amazon, you can save by subscribing to Amazon’s Subscribe & Save. This service allows you to get a 10% discount on items such as pantry staples, cosmetics and cleaning supplies when you set an automatic delivery schedule.
How to use Amazon promo codes
1. Choose an Amazon promo code from our page and click "Get Code" to reveal it.
2. Copy the code, and head to Amazon’s website to start shopping.
3. Add all the items you want to purchase to your shopping cart, then click on the cart in the top right-hand corner of the page when you’re ready to checkout. After reviewing all the items in your cart, click "Proceed to Checkout".
4. You’ll find a box marked "Enter Code" in the payment method section. Paste your Amazon promo code here and click "Apply".
5. Your order total should now have updated to the discounted amount. If it doesn’t, it means the code you have used has either expired or is not valid for the product(s) you have chosen.
